These ships made there way across the Atlantic and into my collection of coins with ships on them. It is a subject I enjoy and has given me exposure to coins around the globe! There are a couple that are really nice designs - hope you like looking at them as much as I do! THANKS!!! Definitely nice Darryl. Here are a few ship coins that were released back during the Soviet Union era: (all of them are commemorative coins though) Singapore released a nice set of banknotes a while ago I'm sure there are a lot more ship related numismatics materials
I LOVE that third coin - tall sailing ships are really beautiful!!! They are all great - thanks for sharing! Darryl
This a ship coin that Germany issued in 2006. It features a Kogge (cog ship) of the Hanseatic League. (In the times of the Austrian Empire, the country did have sea ports.) Some great looking ship-coins Christian - Thanks for sharing the coins and links!!! Best Regards, Darryl
Thanks, Darryl! No wonder I couldn't decipher the words from the avatar! Most of my ship-oriented coins are Canadian: the 1949 Matthew, 1979 Griffon, 1987 Davis Strait, 1999 Charlotte Isl., and 2004 French Settlement. You have acquired a very nice fleet: many thanks to the Admiral of Numismatica.
Great display of ship coins and notes guys:thumb:. I got a few too but never looked at them from thematic point of view. Very nice.
i really like those almost makes me wanna collect a few but got alot on the plate as it is for the time being:eat:
This is my first attempt at uploading images. I am enjoying this thread and would like to see where it will go. These are all available on eBay today, but I am not the seller. My printer is out of commision so I cannot scan my own examples.
Those are some great ship coins, Darryl, I've always liked the Greek ones. Here is one on a Hard Times Token (Low 58, HT16) that I just picked up a few days ago.
Nice coins everyone. You know that you can't hoard them all Here is one that I picked from circulation some time ago:
