300, makes nice large sized images that I can get the detail shots out of, then reduce the notes sizes, and not have a huge file size like 600.
MPC's were printed in the Series year, so for instance Series 461 was printed in 1946, the first two digits being the year. But they were issued and used usually later than the Series year, so for instance the last note, the Series 641 was issued in 1965 and used until 1968 - in Vietnam only. It was followed by the Series 661 notes, that were issued in 1968, but only used until 1969 when they were replaced by the Series 681 notes. The notes were exchanged on C-Day, the one and only day you could change your money for the new series, otherwise you were left with a pile of money you could no longer use, or change. Curiously I have a small pile of Series 661 notes... my father was out on an assignment out in the field off of base when C-Day popped up unexpectedly, and he was left with a pile of pretty, but then worthless notes. Several years later he gave them to me when I started collecting coins and paper money. Everything in the first days of my collecting either came from Vietnam, or from MPC currency.
