    Hi,

I don't have a world catalog. wondered if anyone knew an approximate # of issue and pricing, as I might wish to sell this later. Sedlabanki Islands?
I love the toning over the last decades. Purchased in 1982. Sorry about the reflection.

    Thanks

    Jim

The 2008 book lists it at $32. They're nice coins. Seems like a good price to me, for some really pretty coins. I'll have to keep my eye open for a set.

Thanks to both of you. They certainly are nice. That was the reason I purchased them and it is a good thing it wasn't for financial gains :)

Coins from iceland are well designed...The one with the lady walking with the cow, I bought for about 10 bucks on ebay...pretty much in UNC condition.

Very nice toning. Like the coins! I bought such a set on ebay a couple of years back for $40

They got the translation wrong. It's an eagle, not a vulture.

I appreciate the correction, I was wondering what role the vulture played to be on the coat of arms....except the obvious that maybe it was an implied threat of slaughter of the foes.

They are all supposed to serve the same purpose - to protect the country. You can read about them on wikipedia. Vopnafjörður is on the east coast, Eyjafjörður is on the north coast, Breiðafjörður is on the west coast and Vikarskeið is on the south coast.

Well then if your going to attack ICeland it has to be from the south east or the south west.

issue price was $38.00 - Krause lists it at $32.00 - i have this set in a commemorative case and another in a case with the coins sealed in plastic - haven't seen this variation of packaging.

if it's for sale, i'm interested.

I was at a coin auction today and there were two sets like that. One went for $18 and the other for $20.
