The wife wanted to sell a collection of items at a local flea market, so I took along a few coins to sell. I bought a really nice old "Buck Knife" display case for $5, the week before, and took a coin tray filled with coins displayed in 2X2's. As a first attempt, I took nothing of real value, just some bust quarters, some '64 Kennedys, and some newer Kennedys and Ikes. Also some foreign coins. I made up some snaptights of BiCenntenial coins, and some 1971 and 1973 Quarter down sets.
I put the year, mint, and price on the 2X2. The 64 Kennedy sold at $5 each, and the liberty Quarters at $3.50 each. All sold to one man. Then a lady bought 6 world coins for $7.50, and later a man bought a 1971 set for $15. I was surprised at the large number of people who stopped to look at my coins, given that we were selling many other items and there were over 100 vendors. I also met a kid about 9, who had his 2008 Red book, and was all enthused about collecting coins.
All in all, I had a good day. Hope your Saturday was as nice!

Nothing of value - "bust quarters" ????? I think you meant liberty. :) Sounds like a good day.

Flea markets, my favorite places. When it comes to coins, that is my best place to buy them

That and Antique stores. My two haunts.

I've had fairly good but unpredictable luck in antique stores. Thinking back, most of the bargains have been in silver dimes.
