I have an iPhone and I can't live without it. A coin software program would be wonderful.

well, for one you wouldn't need to be on the internet. it can all be a part of the application. So it would be really be fast.
I would also add the ability to store a picture of the coin.

For example, i am collecting a set of BTW commems, i want them all to be well matched in color and grade for each year of issue. sometimes i forget what kind of toning i am looking for in each year, etc. I would be able to look up my set on the application and see if a coin i am looking at will match well with the rest.

also i have a LOT of sets going in the background, and i am an opportunist.
Lets say i am at a coin show looking for commems, but can;t find any that interest me. Maybe i happen upon some Jefferson nickels that look good, but i can;t remember what i need. it would be handy to have that info at my fingertips.

this is especially needed when it comes to some of my foreign type sets. Some of the coins i am looking for only pop up once in a while and i need to switch gears if i come across something that may fill out a set i have.

I have not the best memory sometimes :)

I used to go to coin shows with my lists, but it ended up being to heavy to lug around (not kidding) I would rather go to a coin show with as little as possible on my persons, having the equivalent of a want list, redbook, and grading guide in the palm of my hand would be valuable to me :)

....Or a device to stay in touch with family for those of us who work 365 days a year away from our homes. I'm only home about 14 hours total in a seven day week, so everything I do, whether it's communicate with my wife or kids, pay bills, buy stock or coins or read the news...it's all done with my phone because thats all I have to do those things with when I'm gone. The days of the desktop computer is limited. Why have a bulking machine taling up space when you can have the same power and abilities in your pocket?

This was an October post & I joined in November.

I need more than just my personal inventory & language translator in my hand held device. Please put my Breen Encyclopedia, Van Allen book, Cherry Pickers Guide, and all my Doubled Die books and the grey sheet on the hand held device.

    Very best regards,
    collect89

P.S. Of course, the personal inventory should be linked to photos of the coins.

I'd be interested. I have an iPhone 3G and I love it. I also use the notepad function on it.. I have my wantlists and lists of what I have/need/etc on there, very handy to have with you @ shows.

    iphone or blackberry storm

I voted yes, but I am also looking at the new Blackberry storm.

I like the idea but I am not sure that you can get all of the info, Picturs, etc and still have the performance.

I have been thinking about a small ultralight notebook.
