A very prescient post, given current advocacy for MMT (modern monetary, or unlimited central bank financing of government spending). Thoughts, anyone? Is MMT blatant currency debasement?
I placed it in queue for our library's ordering several months ago. Amazon shows a release date of 20 April. A friend told me one of the chapters shows much earlier debasement of Roman gold than we had expected. Can't wait to see it.
