FedEx lost my coins.

Maybe the Mods here or others reading these posts can give you some names at Heritage that might help you getting to the right people instead of wasting time making phone calls only shooting blanks.

FYI, a lawyer on contingency gets between 1/2 and 1/3 of recovery. Were I you, I would think about that very seriously

 

Um, that's called insurance fraud. It's been tried before... by many people who are now in jail. Wouldn't recommend it!

 

Have you read something here that isn't peaceful or are you trying to put a different spin on a very upbuilding informative conversation aiding in a direction for a positive outcome on a very serious matter?

 

I think what he's talking about is people being overly critical of the OP and blaming him for something that was not his fault. If people don't intend to even try to be helpfull here there is no need to post. I think that is all jazzcoins was saying.

Assuming the coins were stolen, I also think that posting the Heritage links to your coins is not a bad idea. Especially if there is something distinct about the coins.

You would have the pictures of your coins in the minds of everyone who has read this thread. That's a lot of eye's and someone could notice them on eBay or wherever. It's a small chance but I would do all I could.

 

Richard, like I said before I would try to get the signature conformation form for your delivery from FEDEX. What if your address was miss typed. If your address was wrong it should show on the form. Your package could have ended up at another apartment or down the street some where.

The Original Poster is going to be looked at very hard by Heritage and Fedex.

It could have been stolen by Fedex or someone in the complex or

The OP received the package, was surprised that he did not have to sign anything and realized that there was no proof the package was delivered.

He then thought this was a once in a lifetime chance to make 13k by claiming the package was never delivered.

Just saying.

I seem to remember stories in Coin World reporting that a coin shop had been burglarized and they listed the stolen coins. I see no reason why you shouldn't do the same. Advertising the stolen coin on the Internet could be a very powerful tool in regaining your coins.

 

I'm not even going to touch that one.....

 

How about this story. Last year in Naples Florida there was this individual that would follow UPS trucks on their deliveries. When a package was left at the door this person would take the package. This went on for a few months before the individual was apprehended. The police search his home and found packages in every room of the house and also in 2 storage units. This individual was also stealing neighbors patio sets, bicycles and anything else he could take. Turns out he was selling many of the items on Ebay.

And instead of just keeping, selling, or just plain keeping quiet about it the OP decided to share this tale with hundreds of others on a foram. I don't know how criminals think but the last thing I think an opportunist would be doing is sharing this with several people on a foram. There have been some very compassionatepeople on this site but the reality is there are some really jugmental people that jump to conclusions without even knowing the OP. It's sad that a few myopic opinions have made me forget all those that seemed really helpful and concerned.
