I have found a roll of brilliant Wash Quarters that are mostly uncirculated. Can anyone give me an idea of the value? Here is a photo of a 1961. I apologize for my old camera, it's the best I can do. I don't have a Smart phone. In the photo, there is darkness around the neck that is not on the coin. It is shadowing from the photography. Frankly, I cannot hardly imagine how the coin could look any better. Opinions on the value?
All silver. Dates between 1958-1964, I think. Condition between AU50 and MS 65 if the photo warrants that kind of grade, it's just my guess.
The silver value is about $2.80 each. The really nice ones will be worth a bit more. Selling them will be the problem. They are really common.
Without seeing the entire roll I would say about $125-$135 for the roll. I'm not saying you're wrong but even at MS-65 they would be considered fairly common. The closer the date is to 1965 the more we're made and the less they circulated as 1964 was the last year for silver quarters. After that, people started pulling them out of circulation.
Be sure to check the reverses. RDV-002 and 003 can bring a slight premium. http://varietyvista.com/09b WQ Vol 2/Reverse Design Varieties.htm
Frankjg, all the coins are a part of My Father's Collection. Check out my old posts about his collecting. That's him in the avatar. He was an avid collector.
I'm still trying to grade these quarters, to the best of my ability, according to the Red Book and the PCGS pricing guide. Can anyone please tell me the real prices that these coins (of all grades from G-4 to MS 65) would bring if I were to sell them? I.E. What percentage of the RB price? Thank you,
