For quite some time I have wanted to obtain a gold Victoria Mohur. The prices on these can run about 3000-6000 depending on condition (undamaged) and the year. While searching recently I found this coin and decided to buy it as the next best thing. I like the style of the Persian on the chunky silver ones I have collected over the last 6 months so this just fit right into the group. Does anyone else here have any other examples they wish to share or feedback. Really nice coin. I've also wanted a British India gold coin for my British India collection, but have not yet ventured to part with the large sum necessary to get a decent one. By the way, I think they are referred to as "frozen" because the Regnal Year 19 does not change across the particular series.

I put an offer on another before buying this first coin I posted, I didn't expect to get as it was pretty much just above melt value and they accepted. So I ended up getting this one as well today. 1909 British India Jaipur Gold Mohur. Minted under Madho Singh II. The legend reads "in the name of Queen Victoria"
