For quite some time I have wanted to obtain a gold Victoria Mohur. The prices on these can run about 3000-6000 depending on condition (undamaged) and the year.

While searching recently I found this coin and decided to buy it as the next best thing. I like the style of the Persian on the chunky silver ones I have collected over the last 6 months so this just fit right into the group.

Does anyone else here have any other examples they wish to share or feedback.

Indi-Bengal Presidency 1/4 Mohur AH1204/19 KM#100 (1819) These are also called Frozen because of the snowflakes on the coins (both silver and gold)

Really nice coin. I've also wanted a British India gold coin for my British India collection, but have not yet ventured to part with the large sum necessary to get a decent one.

By the way, I think they are referred to as "frozen" because the Regnal Year 19 does not change across the particular series.

I've been eyeing one of those 15 rupee George V gold pieces, but talk about pricey!

Nice. I have seen those and the 10 rupees as well. I put an offer on another before buying this first coin I posted, I didn't expect to get as it was pretty much just above melt value and they accepted. So I ended up getting this one as well today.
