I've only been at this for a little while now but today at work a lady brought in a bag of change and there was a 1937S buffalo nickel in it! I was so excited! I've had one before but it was before I was interested in coins and I just ended up spending it! So this is my first one saved! Not a big deal I know but I was excited!
Good 4 you. I have cycled through $700 or so of nickels and have not found a single one, yet. Show some pics if u can and keep up the good work!
Nice. I found a 1918 Indian head a few years ago. At least VG. I take it out every so often hoping just once there'd be a seven behind the eight
Congrats KD:thumb: I got my first and only buffalo a month ago. It was a gift from my CT friend Rusty.
I know the feeling when you find something ,it's really exciting. WHAT A GEART HOBBY. Congrats on the find ,:whistle:and keep searching my friend. Jazzcoins Joe
Congrats - One of the perks of handling a lot of money I had to search hundreds in rolled nickels before I found my first Buffalo. I have also found a 1905 Nickel They are out there if you look hard enough and long enough!
Thanks guys! I finally was able to post a picture so I updated my first post in this thread with the pics. It's not great (condition or picture).
Looks nice to me for a found coin. I do not do a lot of searching, but never found a buffalo nickel that I can find. Still a nice find. Is that a 37-D?
But that is a start. More than I have found. And there are techniques to bring out a date, just search the forum. I am not sure I would try them, but who knows.
I think so also, but I was talking about other methods. I think one of them is olive oil or something like that. I am not an expert at that stuff.
Hmmm. Never heard of that. I've heard of letting sit in vinegar for a few weeks, but I don't have the patience to wait that long, lol. I will have to google the olive oil thing. Thanks.
And it could very well have been vinegar. Just not something I committed to memeory. Especially since I never find buff's in change. Sigh.
