yes it can use verdigone ( i havent used it and its expensive, NCS (again expensive), or biox (used it it works) no matter what you do coin will get altered to a degree
This was just a junk example I had lying around. It isn't that I am attached to the coin. It was an example of a dirty coin. -Andy
simple answer, cleaning a coins is just that cleaning it. when a coin is like the one pictured, isnt there usually damage beneath it? i always thought you couldnt have one without the other in a case like this, but i could be mistaken. i would let it be, but try to stop the green from getting worse if possible.
Try a toothpick and a paper towel if you just want to get the gunk off. It might hurt the coin though. I would just leave it on the coin, its part of its story.
Oooh I wouldn't risk using steel wool on it. That would dull up the main features pretty bad. http://www.dremel.com/en-us/AttachmentsAndAccessories/Pages/AttachmentsDetail.aspx?pid=463 Try that they probably sell it at home depot. It is a pointed rubber cleaning tip for a dremel.
Yeah I believe so now that I look at it without being deprived of sleep . Whatever that dremel thing is actually pretty sweet.
I think you are just seeing the shadow from the angle at which I shot the coin. But then I don't pay any attention to error coins.
Not sure of the best way to clean it , but leaving it on will only make it get worse till the whole coin is covered . rzage
