VF 35- XF 40, on the second one, and the first one, I cant quite tell, the resolution on my laptop is crappy (honest excuse) but I say VF 30? both very nice coins!
ill gve you 14 cents for the lot. Did these come from your last trip RLM? excuse my ignorance on the subject, but I thought they only sold the "top" coins there. like.. 14 D's and S VDB's.. do they always sell semi keys and such?
Those are coins I submitted to PCGS for grading. IMO, they qualify as "top" coins probably even by your definition. However, they sold every type of coin there. It is just that there were more high grade coins there than most shows.
yah, They defnitly are TOP my best Lincoln is a 24 D, takes the prize no doubt. Im more so referring to 1000 dollar coins. That is the impression I am under when I think of these auctions. Ive never been to one before
You are talking about the Heritage etc. auctions. Yes, they are very heavy in the $1,000 dollar coins, but there are $200 dollar coins and up also. Just as a clue. the top 24-D would easily fit into their sales. The bottom may be on the marginal side. BTW, my previous entry was referring to the dealers.
The top one got a 63 brown. I thought that it was a 61/62. The bottom got AU-50. I gave it a 53. I will have a couple more to post tomorrow.
WOW! did I ever screw that one up. the 2nd one looks much better on my side of the screen. Is the first one weak struck? I just cant see any detail on it worthy of MS. well.. nice coins man, enjoy them. The 24 D must look killer in hand.
I don't think the top is the best pic I have seen. However, the 24-D is absolutely noted for being a weak strike. The top coin is probably a weaker strike that the bottom, but they are both fair strikes for the 24-D.
