I have four of these 1955D cracked skull cents/ I found in a unc roll, each one of them are about Ms 65 to 67. I Know there's not a big premium for them but in these conditions it may be a different story. I really like this kind of an error especially these, becaue it's an extreme die break. The ones i have can be seen by the naked eye as you can see in the photos what will be the price on these. help would be appreciated.

    Thanks again Jazzcoins Joe

Does not look like the usual planchet crack/peel.

    looks more like a scratch.

Thanks for the input treshunt/ I know it's hard to judge by the photos sometimes/ The crack has a raised image.

    Thanks Jazzcoins Joe

Perhaps the raised portion is from the metal being moved from the scratch.
    Hey, Mike, where are ya?

I have several of these as well. it is from a damaged die. The multiple cracks have caused the center piece to raise similar to a retained cud would look at the edge of the coin. Im sure the die disintegrated shortly after this coin was struck.

These "cracked skull" die cracks are very common throughout the 1950s and do not imply the imminent failure of a die.

I agree, VERY common. I had several bank rolls of 1955's and cracked skulls were plentiful.
