What is THIS? Penny from 1972 mint set looks like it clashed with a quarter?

    This is a very interesting penny. Just cut it out of mint set and it looks very jagged. What happened to this poor fella? Any thoughts?     Looks like it got hit and damaged by the crimping machine that seals the mint sets into there cellophane holders.

    Meow got a baseball card like that once. Partially sealed in the wrapper.

    Clashed with a crimper. May be a bit of die polish, but I don't see clashing.

    Just curious. No disrespect intended. What made you think this cent clashed with a quarter? :)
