Is this considered a missing clad layer?

    Hello everyone, went through some old pennies and found this grayish looking penny, so just would like to know is this considered a missing clad layer penny? Thank you.

    It looks to me like it was treated with an acid because I can see faint traces of copper along the rim of both sides. ~ Chris

    Nope.

    First off the zlincolns are copper plated zinc.


    Second, somebody removed the copper plating with acid. Notice the bit of copper showing below the bust?
