I would like to know the best way to ship coins to foreign countries so that there is a way to track them. I have used USPS Registered and it works but it costs around $15 dollars. Is there a better way?

Does fedex have a way to track once they are in the destination country? Do they insure coins? What does it run?

I think it depends on what country. I imported some rough gemstones from Nigeria, and had a day by day log of what happened to them ....which is when the FBI called...long story. But at least I knew where my FedEx package was every day for several weeks.

Sounds good, I am not going to ship to questionable countries. I bought quite a few foreign coins that range from $25 to $500 dollars. I just don't want a "I never recieved it" and then I have to give them their money and they get to keep the coin. I went on the website and it doesn't look to be very cheap.

I send regularly to Africa - which is more expensive than Europe.

In general, I use what the USPS called Express Mail International. Also known as EMS in much of the world and is associated with TNT out of the Netherlands. It's about $20-$25 for up to a pound of anything and you get a web address and a tracking number.

Honestly, I don't know of any inexpensive way to send items overseas with confirmation. I guess it's the mid-priced coins which lose because if they're inexpensive, you could probably take a chance by sending regular air mail and if they're expensive, you can justify the extra cost of confirmed delivery.

If we have anything of size or bulk to send, we hit up our contacts over there and find out who is visiting the US and arrange to send it to them while they're visiting so they can take it back with them.
