Im more of a Numi guy~

But I take a look at my notes. Im not to sure what I should be looking for?
I know about the star at the end of the serial numbers right?
and I look for ser# that are repeated or unusual like 666660066 or something.

    I look for older bills.

What do I really need to look for?

    Thanks in advance

Keep an eye out for errors: I've never found any, but you should watch for any that are misprinted, offset, or folded while printed.

There are also bills called 'web notes' that I don't know anything about. I hear can carry a decent premium.

Its pretty fun searching serial numbers.

Every once in a great long while, you can find a really good number.

I've actually found a $1 that is 00000001. Just yesterday I got a strap of ones that is 82222201-82222300. There are lots of cool ones in there including 82222222, 82222228, 82222282, and 82222288. Thats the best strap I've ever got.

    I always keep:

Binary - only two different numbers 55353353
Trinary - only three different numbers 55373757
Radars or palendrome- same frontwards and backwards - 10822801
    4 digit repeaters - 10821082
    Four pair - 10822108
Four or more leading zeros - 00008216
Five of a kind or more - 80030001
Five or more in a row 80333335
    Bills that are a date - 08231994
Five or more in an up or down ladder - 87654000
Three or more pair together - 88665501
zip code bills - three leading or ending zeros that makes a real zip code.

Some people collect propeller bills - reads the same upside down - 62855829 I don't have the energy to try to figure those out.

Now, what you need to do is look at every single bill that comes through your hands, start saving these, put them in your sock drawer. After a year or so, you'll decide that its not worth hearing your spouse complain about all that money that is doing nothing in the drawer. You'll put them on ebay or some other website. You'll realize that you could have made more money buying silver and holding it for a year. However, you'll not be able to stop and you'll start to fill up your sock drawer again.

Good post! Once you find that one note that is really cool - then you are hooked! Finding a $1 with the numbers 00000001 is reallllly unbelievable. Even in circulated condition you would have to buy a ton a silver at a good price to make as much as you could off of that one note! Enjoy the hunt :)

It is well circulated, but here is the horrible part - I did a lot of the damage myself! When I was delivering pizzas in high school I came across it. I kept it to play liers poker with my friends, because it had 7 zeros. I had no idea it might be valuable, I just thought it was an oddity.

So that I wouldn't accidently spend it I kept it folded up in a pocket of my wallet. Unfold it, refold it, unfold it, refold it, etc.

LOL - I a friend I play poker with tell me about this 100 he has he wanted me to look at - turns out it was nothing. He said the only other note he has is the one he has been using for liars poker for years - all 4's. Told him the one was worth more than the $100 even with all of the abuse he has put it through. He hasn't been able to find it but knows it's in his house somewhere. He's going crazy trying to find it... :hammer:
