I have been unable to replace my 10 sheqel Israeli coin that I was carrying in my back pocket for luck. I lost it right before 9-11. It has a palm tree motif and is golden in color.I have tried Israeli banks, coin dealers, etc. I finally purchased a lovely set of Israeli coins with the coin inside but I still wanted several coins loose and the set is in a presentation box, too nice to break-open. Any suggestions?

Sure, check on ebay. It should be easy enough to find one there. I know there a few ebay sellers in Israel .

    Cannot Use eBay

Thanks, anyway. I can't use eBay as I use a public computer and have no account. Hopefully, I'll reach a seller 1 day I can purchase from directly like in the good ole days.

OK - where are you ? Perhaps I can help you locate a dealer in your area ?

    Buying Israeli Coins

I live in New York City. I found a dealer in Queens but he only had the 2001 Israeli set honoring the World Trade Center. He doesn't deal in loose coins, such as the 10 NIS. How does a collector get an Israeli set from after 2001? The Government Coins & Medals only seems to deal in medals.

A belated welcome to the forum Myron.
We have at least two members who reside in Israel. You might try contacting one of them by PM, or make a posting that you are looking to buy or trade for such a coin in the Open Forum.;)

Shalom: It is very hard here in New York City to get Israeli coins. Were coins issued after 2001? I have the set of coins from 2001 but no 2002, 2003, 2004 or 2005. Maybe no new coins were issued, I don't know. I used to buy a set every year from the Israeli Govt. Coins & Medals. They had an office here in New York but they closed. I went to the Bank of Israel and the Leumi Bank, but they had no coins. I lost the 10 NIS I was carrying in my pocket for luck. Any ideas? Todah, Myron
