i came across these 2 rolls of kennedy halves from one of my fellow tellers. she had gotten them in a few weeks ago. she just told me she had them. i checked them out and was pleasantly suprised. 2 sweet silver rolls. 1945 liberty half 1 1964 1 1965 4 1966 2 1967 5 1968 10 1969 12 1971 1 1973 1 1974 3
I would have been so excited! At my bank when a customer brings in rolled money we open it and run it through the changer to make sure what is in there is what's supposed to be in there. I've never seen a roll like that. I'm lucky to get a wheat cent now and then. Which I did find one today. LOL
who collects and rolls up entire rolls of silvers and deposits them in the bank (not even their safe deposit boxes) for face-value?
I don't know, but I have found a couple solid rolls myself, mostly Walkers and Franklins. Luck for sure, but it happens.
About six months ago, I posted a picture here of a roll I got at the bank. On one end was Ms. Liberty. The teller looked at it and said "It looks like you got something special" and then handed it to me. I guess I don't understand how Tellers can be so clueless about the potential value of the stuff they handle all day long....
I'm pretty much clueless myself but have started collecting and learning. Figure I work with money all day long I might as well. I don't know much but I would know to hold onto those. LOL
Nice finds! Those halves look to be in good condition. They must have been sitting for awhile. Usually when people die the coins they have saved get dumped at a bank.
