Hi all. I put these dimes together to get a look at the differences. I see the 6 in the 1967 doubled and the 89 a repunched mint mark am I correct. Do you see any other errors.
I want back and take took a look at the reverse has anybody see doubling in the flowers on the left side of top right and left
Thanks pal so what does that mean . Oh I saw it is that what they call off center. Is it normal for that to happen
There is a difference between a Misaligned die strike and a Off Center strike. Here is the definition https://www.lincolncentforum.com/misaligned-die-errors-vs-off-center-strikes/ It is a common issue especially on Dimes. It is nothing really major.
Probably deterioration doubling. Worthless doubling. And those are leaves not flowers. Reverse A torch that stands for liberty, an olive branch that stands for peace, and an oak branch that stands for strength and independence.
I'm new here. Im Jim have a question, I have an odd 1979 D Dime looks like Copper is that even possible?
Dimes are clad. The Clad is made of Cupro-Nickel. Environmental exposure will tone the Clad to a darker color.. Here is a recent CoinTalk thread on the topic with many pictures -- https://www.cointalk.com/threads/heres-the-1972-copper-dime-i-found.357912/#post-4314007 Welcome to CoinTalk
I doubt it. You can't strike a Dime onto a Copper Cent planchet because it is larger and it won't fit into a Dime chamber. I'm sure it is just environmental toning damage.
Though not major, it is kind of nifty. To the OP (@Jimm), that's the one I'd keep and spend the rest as there is nothing going on with them.
