I won't guess on the Peace Dollar as I saw it posted on Instagram with a listed price.

As for the nickel, part of the price was that it came from the Pogue sale at Stacks a few weeks ago. One of the big dealers on the PCGS forums also mentioned he saw it as a potential 68. Still the price was way above what I expected (and obliterated the admittedly low estimate of $300).

 

I say $195 on the peace. The nickel was beautiful and a pogue coin I thought I might have a chance at around $1k +-$100 or so. As as a spectacular type set coin the money it went for was just plain stupid. But of course someone will probably get it in a maxed out 68 holder

 

Even in a 68 holder, it’s still just a 1943-D which are very common with full steps. That coin looks like an Appalachian which would sell for $1K-$1500. $6K is absolute insanity for a date/mm that is a $100 coin in MS67 FS.

 

I’m in agreement. It’s just crazy. Why I posted it. As I said I was interested at around $1k. And I thought that strong money for that coin. I thought the final price was pure insanity why I posted it

 

Anyone else want to guess on the Peace Dollar posted before @Lehigh96 reveals the answer?

 

C’mon guys, we need more than 3 guesses. Where is everybody?

Nobody was really close. I bought the coin at the December Allentown/Bethlehem show for $275 and sold it last month for $380.

 

Nice...toned peace are harder to find.
