I brought this home for the coin show. $3 and no shipping charges, you can't beat that. The sealed holder the coins are in is worth that. I always wonder where dealers find these coins sealed up in nice kits from years ago. I can't find anything like that at the mint. The coins are not worth much money, but make a nice addition to my World Coins.
Now that's what I call tight! :mouth: Too cheap to post pics, but at least he lives up to his name. Ribbit
My computer will not upload this pic for some reason. I have bad luck with scanners, will try my kodak as usual .
Here is a picture of the coins. I had some problems with the "system", but if you folks will all pull together, and loan me 70 Billion dollars, I think I can fix the problem and we will all get through this crisis.LOL
Oh, one more thing. It is a supreme compliment to be called "tight" by Scottish Money. You may recall the Mississippi River was created when a Scottsman dropped a nickel down a mole run!
I remember in the 70's coins from Israel were being marketed for collectors in all kinds of forms. Do you know the dates on these? They could be from that time period. :thumb: Ribbit
I can tell you where a lot of dealers find these coins. They walk in the door. We buy coins, not holders, at the shop so the dealer probably paid next to nothing for it. I've heard the boss tell sellers the holder is worth more than the coins on SO many occasions. As HandsomeToad noted it does look like the packaging of coins from Israel in the 1970s. Seen quite a few of those.
Did we just date ourselves? I should have said that I heard they did that, so it didn't sound so first-hand. Ribbit Ps: At least we don't have movie ticket stubbs from the premiere showing of Gone With the Wind, like Spock has. And we're not capable of telling stories about growing up during the Great Depression, like Doug does. Ribbit-Ribbit-Ribbit
Nice buy TW. It was issued on 21st anniversary of Israel which means 1948+21 ; so it is from year 1969 (probably issued on May). And its worth more than $3. So you did good.
