Well I'm just glad he didn't put "fake" on there. As Spider's representative, I believe my theory will prevail and will prove to be made mostly of gold!
2 things: 1) Did Spider ask you to be his representative? What qualifications do you have to represent him (or anyone for that matter)? What numismatic information/research (other than your own personal deams) do you have to support the "coin's" status as anything other than a fake? 2) Why are you glad that he didn't put "fake" in his poll? It seems to be the most popular answer, yet it has inexplicably been left off. That seems to indicate that you don't care to know the truth of people feel, you just want to have your opinion glorified.
Due to reasons of potential client/defendant confidentiality, I can not confirm nor deny any of your questions there until I receive word from Spider in this very delicate matter.
Strange, the California State Bar has no record of your admission to the practice of law in this state. Check for yourself.
That's because I am not a lawyer/attorney!!!!!!!!! I never once said I was a lawyer or attorney at all. I dunno where you got the idea from that I said I was... ???
I believe the coin is real, though a better picture would help confirm that. The golden patina can be produced a number of ways and all are by artificial means. I still need more confirmation that the weight is correct, either balance weigh this piece against a similar Ike dollar, or weigh some other Ikes and see how much the scale says they weigh, or weigh it on another scale to confirm the original weight. It is all but impossible for a real Ike $ to weigh a quarter ounce too much, so I suspect the scale. Bottom line, real coin, fake patina, incorrect weight.
Well cdb1950 is on my side in regards to the authenticity of this coin! I am still maintaining the faith it is a true rarity.
Spider... Is there a knowledgeable coin dealer in your area? If so, please take it to him and let him determine what it is. Then, please let us know what he says.
