Hmmm... I can't see any of the lower part of the "C" and what's that lump under the left side of the Memorial?
This came out of an original BU roll, the grease and debris it was struck thru are still on the coin...you cant see any of the CE in CENT. I assure you that this isn't PMD
That was in my thoughts. If it came from an original bank wrapped roll. I had an original bank wrapped roll of 1982 zinc cents and several had remnants of a shattered coin imbedded during the strike.
Ive came across several like this with fragments of copper still on the coin. This example had a tiny piece stuck in the grease but it fell off
Better photos (lighting) would be helpful. From the photos you've posted, it's hard to tell exactly what is going on, but I'm leaning toward gunk stuck to the coin, as others have mentioned.
are the pics that bad? On my computer they look excellent,if you click on them they will enlarge. Ill get more light on it tho and post pics in a bit
That is not how that happens. That was totally made up just now by you. That is crud that got on the Cent Post Mint.. I don't care what roll it came out of. That Cent has circulation marks on the Obverse.. On lincolns Cheek, ear and the back of the head!
We can agree to disagree,i have had this coin looked at by several prominent and well respected error experts who would tell you the same thing. What i have here shows what it most often looks like when it has hardened and become "gunky" enough with dirt and grim to cause strike through affects. I do not just make up stuff out of thin air,i have looked into this quite extensivly
Why all of a sudden everyone claims to have shown their coins to error experts? That is a circulated Cent with Crud.. that's all I have to say! Damaged. I am an error specialist! That did not occur at the Mint!
As an error specialist, you should be aware of what is occurring on this example, maybe YOU need to look into it more...what is your deal..
I did.. and I agree with the others that it is Post Mint Crud. Please give the names of the "Error Experts" that looked at your coin. I would like to speak to them.
if you look at those pics you can see on the reverse at the very bottom a copper fragment that was stuck to the coin as well...I don't see just some random black tar with copper fragments coincidentally just sticking to my BU coin and removing device details in the process.
