Help me guy's...I said I was done with Large size for this year...but look what just came up in Gem!! What do you think, should I or Should I not!? RickieB
Wow beautiful , if you got the bread go for it . That's the kinda note that will get me into paper from coins . Love all the threads in the paper , and the artwork ! Lincoln & Grant on a one dollar note , you could make your money back in bets . rzage
Nice note! Like rzage said, if you have it and really like it, get it. Even though it doesn't fit in to the existing collection your doing it is a nice old note to have. But that is just my opinion.... Smaugy
If you get it, you will not regret it. If you let it go, you very well might regret it. In other words, You can always eat Ramen Noodles for a while!
Even though it's not a New York note I would say go for it - You don't see notes like that very often! Nice Note RickieB...
the eagle in gem is not all that uncommon... really, i see them by the truck load all the time... we use them to start fires when it gets cold outside. I mean, if you let this one go, how long before another in the same grade or higher comes along.. really? next week, next month, next year ....
Daggar... I am not so familiar with this note...are you serious? It is raw and asking is 795.00 It was offered to me at 725.00 Would you do it? BTW..thanks to everyone for your comments. RickieB
a $700 +/- note doesnt strike me as being all the rare. Like was said, i guess if you got the money for it and want it, go for it. Otherwise, in a cash tight situation, i would wait.
look at the note its not well centered there is no way this is coming back as a gem grom PMG/PCGS i would wait Rickie you dont buy these kind of notes everyday and if you are going to get them graded later on save the headache and buy one already graded
I'm not going to encourage you to spend your money Rickie...but if you do decide to buy it it will make a fine addition to your collection.
Thanks everyone.....List on this note in CHCU is $750 (June 2008). Spock I agree that it is not "perfect Centering" but the note is in remarkable condition. In Gem it list at $950.00 and up (same source) It is an Fr236 Speelman/White 1899 $1 Sliver Cert. At the price point it was offered to me at, I have decided to add it to the collection. I will send it off to PCGS once I receive the note and see what it is returned at...Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions. It is now part of the Large Size collection and if I get back a Very Choice New 65 or 66 I will be thrilled. Thanks again everyone! Regards, RickieB
Hello Jeff... How are you? Thanks...I did! I love the notes you picked up at the Calif show..(Long Beach) Are you going to Chicago?? I am booking it this year!! Regards, RickieB
I never say never, ie never say I won't buy anymore this year, because just then something else comes along that I cannot possibly live without.
