is it worth having these graded?

I have 3 1964 proofs that a neighbour likes. The only problem is he only buys graded/slabbed coins. I have a feeling it will cost me much more to send them in than i am likely to offered for them. I can't seem to capture the coin on film properly but the fields are jet black at the right angle, and like mirrors otherwise.

If your neighbor won't buy them raw then forget it.. That's not your problem. His loss. You don't need to send them to get graded just for that!
Keep them.. They look really nice!

Your light source is from the right. Try adding second light on left for better quality pics. I have found coins (as have most people) are the most difficult items to photograph. The results always leave you wanting. Also, try installing a dimmer so you can adjust the light level.
I agree with paddyman98. I suspect your neighbor wants them graded so he doesn't have to bear the cost.

Very nice looking and I agree with Paddy. Not your problem. It will cost you more than the coin is worth to have them graded. Your neighbor can buy the coins and send them in for grading himself.

Thanks guys. That was my take on it as well, just wanted a second opinion. In hand they are great to look at but not worth much.
