1970 penny (iberty) grease error or over polishing?

    If someone could examine this penny and tell me what’s going on I’d appreciate it. Also if someone could explain the difference that would be helpful. My research is slow going @paddyman98 but I’m on it.

    Could be a combination of a worn die strike which would cause the debris (compacted grease) filled die. And a bit of a hit during circulation.

    It's tough when you are first learning about the so many different ways these issues occur. I have 36 years experience and still learning!

    I will definitely be reading through the links you sent. I’m at about 2 months now and I looked through all the coins my grandfather gave me already so I’m starting my own collection since I just plan on tucking those away forever anyways. The only thing is his collection was mainly world coins and this is very different so I’m learning a lot. If you have a link that shows a good amount of penny varieties I could use that. I can only remember the close and wide am years.
