Morgan Dollars

    hello, i found these two coins some time ago
    i plan on selling them, can you please tell me what you think these are worth?
    im pretty new for this stuff, i only collect never rly found what what they are worth and stuff.
    i have many other coins but if i find this topic helpful, ill post my others.
    Any help is appreciated. also please identify these as well.
    These colors on the coins are just my clothes reflections on them while i was taking the pics

    btw i just store these in a tissue paper lol
    where should i or how should i be storing them

    i dont think these will be worth much : P

    Ruth:
    They are nice Morgan dollars.

    It is hard to see, but look under the eagle's tail feathers for and letters, say S, O, or CC.

    That will help for value.
    Also, the tissue paper is not the best, but better than some other methods of storage.

    Also, don't clean them.

    G'Day Ruth you will find if any letters on the reverse between the D O in DOLLAR just below the bow regards Harry :stooge:

    Your coins don't have them. When the pictures are blown up it is clear that there is no letter (or mint mark) on them. These letters indicate what city the coin was made in. The absence of a letter indicates the coins were both made in Philadelphia.

    Both the 1889 and 1891 Philadelphia Morgan's are common for that series. But, they are still desirable coins. Cleaning them hurt the value though. I personally wouldn't pay more than melt value for common date Morgan's that have been cleaned. The value of silver has been down lately...and as of today, those coins contain $10.13 in silver each. There might be people willing to pay a bit more for them...but many collectors wouldn't because those dates can easily be found uncirculated and un-cleaned.
