Couple of Colombian Cartagena 1810-1821 Æ 1/2 Reales Howdy fellow coin peeps, I just got in a couple of 1/2 Reales from Columbia, War of Independence, Republican siege coinage - Cartagena 1810-1821: I got these in a group of 5 coppers and I've already posted the Roman and have two more to post later, a Phillip II (mid to late 16th century) and a little 1767 1/4 Stuber. I just looked at them and I do not believe they are varnished. I will be removing the green corrosion and when I do, if there is any varnish, it will also be removed but like I said, they don't appear to have any varnish on them. Also, I can't tell if they've been cleaned before but it's possible/probable. Ribbit
Both coins are in great condition and don't appear to have ever been in the ground and probably kept in a drawer somewhere for a long time. I lucked across them in France and how they got there, I haven't a clue but now they are closer to where their journey began. Ribbit
