This morning I took the half dollar bag off the changer and went through it. I didn't expect to find anything but did.

First I found a coin that says on the front Repulbica Del Ecuador 1991 and on the back it says 50 sucres

Then I found a walking liberty 1941 with a hole in the top though. It is my first though so I'm definatly keeping it!

I was looking for silver. On half dollars 1970 and below is silver right? Well I found a 1965, 1967, two 1968's one with a hole in the top and a 1969. These are my first silver ones of the half dollars too! YIPPEE!

Then a lady came in with pennies to change and there were 2 wheat pennies a 1949D and a 1954D.

Not bad for my first 2 hours of work today.

Not bad. Yes, you are correct with the half dollars...1970 and older are silver. 1964 and before are 90% silver while 1965-1970 are 40% silver.

I was just excited because they are my first silver halfs and my first walking liberty even though she looks like she used to be a necklace and my first of that foreign coin.

If you get a 1970-D, it's from an uncirculated set.

I was about 25 in 72 or73 and went out drinking with friends. I took along a 70D Kennedy and spent it on a drink just for the fun of it. I often wonder how long it was before someone found it.
