Alaska Quarter Has Anyone Seen this Error

    I'm saying error, but in fact I guess this could be considered a defect.

    I just went through a roll of Philly Alaska quarters. I quickly noticed that there appears to be a die defect on the obverse. If you look at the bottom of Washington's neck line there is a raised line coming off the the left tip or point of this neck line moving to the left. If its not a crack it must be a tooling groove. The line extends out past the top of the left side of the U and ends at the outside edge of the Q. I found 7 of these in one roll.

    I use my camera at work, and that's where it is at the moment. I will take some pics as soon as I can.

    Has anyone seen this yet? If not keep an eye out for them.

    without seeing pics I would guess this is a die crack which is very common at the base of the neck. Once we see pics we can confirmthis or rule it out

    Here is a Picture

    I found seven quarters out of one roll that are all the same as this.
