well i got to go to a coin shop that is an hour from my town but there were no coins that i was interested in (on my budget) so i look through there paper i found 5 stars and 2 cool serial #'s all for $16 the 1935 were $2.50 the rest of the stars were $2.00 the two note was $3.50 and the silver cert was $1.50 well what do you guys think? how did i do? anything special?
i think you done good you might not have gotten a 'steal', but as was mentioned, as long as you are happy, you done good. IMHO i dont see anything that would make myself unahppy if i had purchased those notes! a very nice bunch!
I agree. The USN is sooooo close to those magic numbers I like so much. I would have had to buy that one too if I had seen it! It's the only denomination I haven't been able to find as a binary with 6's and 5's.
The second note in the picture is a bit special...it's a 1935G with motto star. The motto "In God We Trust" was added to the back of the $1 bill toward the end of the 1935G series, and the 1935G stars with the motto are on the scarce side; in CU condition they can fetch a couple hundred bucks. Yours isn't CU, but you still got a pretty good deal picking it up for $2.50!
a prime reason to save all your stars folks.. i mean all of them... or better yet, i will exchange them on a 1 to 1 basis .. you pay shipping
