I hold a good amount of state quarters that are just slightly less than un-circulated. Does anybody know if state quarters have yet made any appearance at any of the coin auctions?
Hi Steve, you can check Heritage auction website for the coins you are thinking about. State quarters have to be of very high grade (high Mint State), or being major error coins, in order to bring good $$.
"Slightly less than uncirculated"? You won't live long enough for them to appreciate in value. ~ Chris
There really is no market for uncirculated rolls yet alone coins saved from change. I have UNC rolls that are going to end up in the Coinstar when things calm down
A started an identical thread about a month ago. All mine were uncirculated. In the end,I bought 2 intercept shield albums and hand picked the 2 nicest from each roll/mint (including 2009 territories) and then deposited $1060 at the bank. Very happy with my decision and how nice they look in these albums. edit: the Denver mints look twice as nice as the philly mints. Nearly all the Ds are prooflike.
I collect them l mostly need the Pennsylvanian state quarters. Although I have this weird 2019 W quarter. is that special in any way?
Nice coin albums Brad I cannot make out who makes them from the picture, who and where is the best deal on those albums? Thanks for any info!
Intercept Shield. I bought them from Wizard Coin Supply for $30 then another $8 for the 2009 territory page. Careful, There are several different kinds: 1 slot per kind, 2 slots per kind (both mints), 3 slots per kind (both mints plus proof). edit: am I allowed to post their link? https://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/products/state-quarter-albums/ Wish there way to capture how pretty the pages look. Even my wife enjoyed flipping through it.
This fancy set of state quarters in a book. Is supposed to be all Denver mint, BUT the last row or two I think were Philadelphia. (I'd have to go dig it out and check my notes to be sure) Supposed to be Uncirculated from the mint. All in plastic holders. I couldn't give it away at face value at one of the coin club meetings.
I find that the quality of product is far superior at the Denver mint when I receive the mint sets.........
I had never done anything like that where I looked at nearly 5000 uncirculated quarters over the course of a week. I was only a few into the series when I realized that some of the Ds were prooflike and most of the Ps were ugly. I never found one P that was prooflike. On day 2, I could pick up a new roll and knew exactly the mint. I saved a couple extra Ds that were too spectacular to put into a coinstar. Here was an extra Arizona that I kept. D, of course. And for the record, whoever picked the Wyoming design should be fired.
Wow! That's more than 4200 quarters. 100+ rolls. I can't imagine what that looks like. Or how much space it takes up.
