Yes, there is a tremendous amount of history in a well-circulated Morgan that just can't be duplicated by an uncirculated coin. Such feelings aren't valued by the hobby but are real just the same.
That is a great scenario Haliwea, I just watched an old western movie on television. The character put up his horse at the stable... I could swear I saw him toss a Morgan to the owner in payment. jeankay
I have a ton of coins that are wheats, morgans, silver misc., war nickels, merc dimes, walkers, buffalos without dated etc. literally boxes and boxes of 'em. But I collected them out of circulation when I was a kid and still have 'em till today. What are they worth? Memories and 10 times face. That's about it. But would I sell a 1916 xfine penny for 10 cents or a merc dime for a buck . . . not on your life. Now watch me die and my grand kids spend 'em at the local McDonalds for some greasy fries.
A Vg 1883 holed 2 centavo, one of my first coins. It’s almost worthless. :hail: A circulated, die crack 50-State quarter set I’m working on. All good stuff! :thumb:
