Sweet large AE of Titus @Clavdivs ! Shocker! Here's a non-provincial of mine. Titus Denarius. 80 AD. Dolphin coiled around anchor. Obv: IMP TITVS CAES VESPASIAN AVG P M, laureate head left Rev: TR P IX IMP XV COS VIII P P, dolphin coiled around an anchor. 3.2 gm.
Very nice portrait on that coin @Clavdivs and I see why you kept coming back to it. Awesome too that it arrived before total shut-down. -d
That’s a beauty @Clavdivs , congrats on a great new addition. Titus, As, Lugdunum, (28mm, 8.51g), Laureate head right, globe at point of bust / Spes advancing left, holding flower and raising hem of skirt. RIC II 1273 (Vespasian).
Some gorgeous coins on here , I have only one Titus for now TITUS , denarius Rome mint , 79 Ad 3.36g 17mm RIC 08 (R)
In my limited experience, sellers rarely specify which edition of RIC they're citing in their coin descriptions. For that reason, in my description of my one Titus coin, I listed both references (and have tried to do the same for other coins covered by two editions of RIC): Titus Caesar AR Denarius 77-79 AD, Obv.: Laureate bust right, T CAESAR VESPASIANVS (legend is counter-clockwise) / Rev. Annona seated left, leaning elbow on seat and raising drapery, ANNONA AVG. RIC II-1 972V (2007 ed.), old RIC II 218 (1926 ed.), RSC II 17 (ill.), Sear RCV I 2436 (ill.), BMCRE 319. 18.55 mm., 3.01 g.
The portrait of the OP is a beauty. Here's mine ROMAN IMPERIAL, Titus.
