I have a similar in an older NGC holder too. Should I keep it in the old slab or crack and try for a star?
They’ll almost always bean a pretty toned accurate graded Morgan. Though not one that’s a point overgraded for color. That 04-O is gorgeous
Just getting back into coins after a long hiatus... Still know what that is as soon as I see the wide fraction!
Nice. Lucky you. Mine had a Whitman album of Lincoln’s that helped get me started but I went beyond that early on
That's like my father. He collected, but only what he found in circulation. I went way beyond that. I still remember Virg Marshall's adds for affordable early Lincolns in COINS and COINAGE. I'd save part of my allowance for weeks to place an order.
Maybe some sellers are spooked. I just picked this one up today when the owner accepted my offer. This may not be as rare as supposed, This is my 7th.
@Log Potato Thanks, I put it together a few years ago, now I'm trying to replace some them to get a more balanced look.
My first gold dollar! I'm not a fan of Morgan dollars at all, but I went to a coin shop in search of toned coins, and Morgan's were all they had to fit the description. I am not a fan of the flashy rainbow toning on morgans because I see those so much it has become boring. Deep blues/violets are nice though. And then I got this kookaburra. I liked that the queen's bust didn't take up the whole side of the coin.
