Hey, you can eat like that, too -- just do 80 hours a week of hard physical labor like @panzerman! Edit: Or be a teenager. Like my son. Who is seriously throwing off my "how much food do I need for the next X days" calculations.
If 80 hours of pushing the buttons on my remote, with periodic breaks to the fridge and bathroom, count as hard physical labor then I'm all in!
Tonight I made a lemon garlic chicken pasta with spinach. I've never made it before but it turned out pretty good. Just threw stuff that we had in the pantry/fridge together to see what happened. So far, the whole Frog clan thinks it is good.
This stay at home quarantine has thrown a damper on our Friday - Saturday eating out habits. Now I'm cooking 7 days a week. The saving grace is the I cook you clean agreement I have with my better half. Friday night it was home made Pizzia (with store bought dough) Saturday night it was Korean chicken soup Sunday Pork shoulder roasted low and slow at 225' for six hours This morning baked oat meal with fresh cranberries Anyone interested can PM me their email. I will send the recipe(s)
Tonight I am going for charbroiled cheeseburgers on the barbie. I usually make three for myself/ garnish with three slices of tomato/ Spanish onion/ salt/ pepper. To drink with that, an ice cold Corona with lime For dessert, I make some Dr. Oekter Chocolate pudding/ let it cool in fridge/ then when ready, have it with tons of whipping cream.....yummy. Ihave my dessert at 10:00 PM while watching "Project Bluebook"
Now this is creepy. In the mail today I got an advertisement from a funeral home/cemetery in Kansas. I live in Wisconsin. Maybe the Covid-19 virus was created by the funeral home/cemetery lobby.
My dead mother-in-law continues to receive regular mail from SiriusXM, even though we've sent them strongly-worded letters pointing out that she's moved quite permanently to an area they do not serve. Maybe your names got crossed on a mailing list.
When my father and brother were in a car accident five years ago, I picked them up at a hospital in Grand Forks, ND, and brought them to our home in Moorhead, MN, for recuperation. I had Dad's mail forwarded to us immediately as we weren't sure how long they would be with us. Bad mistake. Dad ended up in the hospital that very night and subsequently in palliative care where he died ten days after the accident. Dad was a generous person, evidenced by the dozens of charities to whom he donated or who bought his name for their own mailing lists. I wrote to every single charity, informing them he was deceased. Didn't help. Stuff (actually, crap in many instances) keeps coming. I decided it was their nickel and now just toss it all. Except for a very few, like the DAV, which I donate to out of respect for my dad's WW II service. During the first day of the Battle of the Bulge he accidentally shot his sergeant, a good friend, in the arm when his captain tossed him a Tommy gun and it discharged when my dad caught it. To his dying day, Dad regretted that, even though it wasn't his fault. Sorry for the digression from shut-in meals. Getting bored stuck in AZ. Steve
I'm sorry that I'm responsible for digressing this thread. One good thing about the junk mail is that most will probably burn in the fireplace. To get back on topic, I just finished leftover red beans and rice with grilled brats, topping it off with some cake!
My wife made us a delicious smoked salmon risotto, and there's enough left for tomorrow with some bread.
Being home has given me more time to cook. That can be a good thing...or a bad thing...depending on how you look at it. Last night's dinner was a baked pasta with hamburger, red sauce, and mozzarella. And this morning, I baked blueberry muffins.
Weare having: I just picked up some goodies from supermarket...we are having for supper tonight. Rock Cornish Hen with dressing/ mashed potatoes whipped up with lots of / philadephia creamed cheese. Baby peas/ carrots smothered in butter Lots of gravy! John
Nice! I am making honey garlic chicken breasts with cheesy mashed potatoes and a side vegetable (to be determined) tonight. It is tough figuring things out to make that the kids will eat. If they could eat chicken strips, french fries, and mac n' cheese every day, they would.
