Pretty sure I got mine a while ago. Tough to consider major coin purchases when stocks so cheap. I know I am in minority, since I hear coins are going high at auction.
They sent me a freebie almost 2 weeks ago . Fabulous coins & great photos as usual. They sent out e-mails today that the site for the live auction has been canceled but you can register for live biding & they will waive the 2% surcharge that usually goes with that service.
I wish I had gotten one, I'm bidding to win on at least 1 lot and have some competative bids in on some others.
I am short of funds, but have eye on 3 lots. Hopeing, I can land one. Itching to go back to work, after long Winter Thankfully, I work outdoors with this COVID-19 going around. Would not want take public transit.....at this point in time.
Great catalog with some amazing coins. I had already dialed back my coin spending before it hit the proverbial fan, so won’t be bidding. That said this sale has 3 coins I would consider blowing a year’s budget on
If I win one, I'll seriously take you up on that if it's ok. Also, I've never bought from Roma. Do you have to pay extra for importation fees and stuff into the U.S.? Theres currency conversion cost, plus the buyers premium and shipping but are there any other fees I should know about?
I don't mind, and could mail you the last couple actually. I dropped some money on the Cleo VII tet with them so I get them. Mail wasn't bad as international auctions go.
I have someone representing me on the lot I liked best and it was viewed in hand, so I'll see how that goes and go from there on their next auction I guess. The bad thing about not bidding direct is that if I win something, they wont know it was me and I wont get catalogs in the future from them.
Have you asked your representative about this? Most dealers who handle auction representation can get you on the catalog mailing list.
It is a beautifully produced catalog with some rare, mega-bucks lots. I especially like the imitative owl from Gaza, apparently unique, but way, way out of my price range. That's lot 649.
I've won many auctions from Roma and have never received a catalog. Guess there is a dollar amount you have to reach in order to get one.
I may have won one or two inexpensive coins from Roma, but I receive their catalog all the time. I have several catalogs saved simple because they are beautifully done.
They told me "Buyers who spend over £1000 in a single auction with us are automatically placed onto our catalogue mailing list"
Well, then they have me confused with someone else. I have not spent that kind of money on very many coins, and none from Roma. But I still get the catalogs.
I used to get their catalogs, and for some reason they stopped sending them at some point. They are beautiful catalogs to keep on the shelf Q
