HAHA, that's funny. Where can I buy a dvd? (Honestly though, I probably would've accidently done the same thing! ) Phoenix
Nice coins Jack This is probably a dumb question, but why is one PCGS slab green, one blue, and one yellow? stainless
LOL After the blood returned to my head, I stopped hyperventilating and I regained my ability to speak, I explained what had happened, and the auctioneer backtracked the bids from where I started, which was good because I do not have enough equity in my house to pay for the lot I dont even remember what lot it was or how much, but it was.........a silly feeling my vocabulary is not big enough to describe accurately. My pulse is just now dropping below the 200 level. Stainless, the different phases of PCGS holders are represented. The green one is what they call " OGH " or Old Green Holder. The yellow I have no clue, I'll look at them tommorow, all my new coins are in the safe locked up, I am tired of looking at coins right now. Yep. Coined out. Yes Brad, RLM also picked up a monster woody, a super 1918-S, I'm sure he'll post pics when he gets home.
It probably got to that value because of you, you shilled it up. I'd ask Heritage for some of the rake-off.
Here is the 18-S. It is marked AU, but we found no wear on it. However, there are some small scratches. If they graded that 24-D, I see no reason they should not grade this. One runs ear, cheek, lips and then down the front. The second runs from the "R" in "LIBERTY" and arcs through the shoulder. I can only see wisps of the scratches on my monitor. Have no idea what shows on a good monitor.
wow! Great coins guys, that 22 D looks nice Jack, and very nice woody, wish I coulda been there. Jack, are any of those going to be updates in the personal collection? cant wait to see pics of the 14 D, and close up shots on your site.
Rlm !!! The scratch moved !!! LOL What a woody, looks better in hand, the pics are nice but the grain on that coin is far better than the pics suggest. Snaz, They will make it up this weekend I hope. The SVDB, PCGS 64RB without the sticker is already sold to a coin talker, it was actually a want list purchase.
Sounds like you guys had a blast. I think if that had been me at the auction I would have turned and ran as fast as I could. Not only would that add a comedic aspect to their dvd, but it would be interesting to see what would actulallt happen. Of course, you would have had to devise a disguise to wear the rest of the convention. I think I may have to plan on attending the next LB show. Hopefully Jack will pull off something equally interesting Guy~
Had a great time, but my favorite was with Spankle. Had about 20 coins I wanted to submit for grading and wanted another opinion if they would grade or would grade high enough to grade. Pretty much he agreed with me. He looked at my 1916- (PCI 65 RED pic in my album #1). He looked at it an said it had been cleaned. I agreed, but it is still a gorgeous coin. Anyhow, he put it down and then picked it right back up. "Yea! Its been cleaned". Put it back down and started on some other coins and went back to that 16-. "Man that's hammered, but I don't think they will grade it." Went through the rest of the coins and then went back to the 16-. Finally, said that it was a pretty coin, but he really did not think it would grade. Showed it to Rick Snow later. He pretty much agreed, but sounded pretty sure it would grade after sitting on a window sill for a while to allow the yellow to mellow for a while.
BTW, he are the 2 I did buy. I did not do a good job of catching the blue on the 12-D. I could hardly see it while taking the pic, but it is definitely there. With the 40-S, I now have 1937 - 1945 complete all 27 NGC 67's.
all you lincoln collectors are awesome i would never have the patience to sit and cherry pick those great coins it would drive me nuts
RLM, very very nice coins, you did very good IMO! All have real nice strikes from what I can see, very nice job. :thumb: Phoenix
a cpl more pics. RLM and I outside the show, then the fake PCGS dies and coins that were on display. The slabs were also fake from China. Pretty amazing stuff, the pics do not do justice, it was very difficult getting them thru a glass case with the lights reflecting on them.
is that the pic you got from the PCGS booth? what happened to the PCGS girls you keep on harping about?
This time around the Heritage girls were better, but the PCGS girls were nice too. No pics were allowed inside the show besides the fake dies
