I have a small bag of copper cull coin that I pick through once in a while to see if I can identify anything. My latest find has enough visible features. I could tell it said Georgius on one side and a date of 1723 on the other. A little googling and bingo. An Hibernia Halfpenny that seems to have once had circulation in pre-colonial America. I found an excellent article about the history of this coin. At 297 years old they seem to be quite valuable. Mine is worth every Halfpenny I paid for it. Not a coin I expected to see in the Redbook. https://npobjects.wordpress.com/2015/04/15/the-rise-and-decline-of-woods-hibernia-halfpenny/
Rough, but yep- that's what it is! Nice cherrypick, if it came from a random cull lot. I have found Redbook-listed colonials in cheap bulk lots on at least three occasions.
