Congrats Darryl:thumb: I must say that its a real unique way of collecting serials and guess both 5 and 6 are your lucky numbers. We do have something in common though as the number 5656 is my favorite for some romantic reasons lol but I never given a thought of collecting bank notes over it. Best of luck with your collection.
I think I read someone post to me about you having a reason behind your numbers you collect. Care to share it with me? I think it's awesome! Actually to be honest I look for some for you when I'm at work. Not found one yet though. Working on it!
The clue is in Darryls Avatar... Do not want to steal Darryls thunder..so it will be interesting for you to find out from him.... RickieB
I've looked at his avatar and can't figure it out. Geuss I'm missing something. Can't wait to hear from him.
Thank you Kristy I was stationed aboard the United States Sub George Washington Carver SSBN656 in the Mid 80's. It is a part of my life I will never forget and am very proud to have had the opportunity to have done. Besides that I was born in 1965 so I consider 65 to be my lucky numbers I appreciate any help as far as my collection goes - you never know where they will turn up! I have gone a little crazy with the 65 collection but feel it will be harder and harder to find these notes as time goes on so when they come around I try to buy them if I can. With the group of 11 in the first shot I actually had to pass on 13 others due to the cost. Some of these can be expensive depending on age / condition / dealer. Sometimes the high price is acceptable if I reallllly want it and other times you just have to say it's too much. They do seem to come in streaks with the dealers and I don't like to say no too often or they might find a more consistent customer to sell them to. Best Regards ~ Darryl
Well Darryl Thanks for serving our country! That is awesome! It's really neat that you found something that has meaning to you. I'll keep my eye out for ya!
Thank you RickieB!!! I have been waiting a while to secure the first 11 and the other 7 just came at me out of the blue and at the right price I do need to start focusing on some of the older notes I would like to add. I have also just about abandoned my coin collecting. A little break on the bank account is probably most needed. Sorry for the delay in answering kdkenn - I can never seem to explain anything in less than three paragraphs Have a great weekend! ~ Darryl
I think I am trying to corner the market :rolling: If you find one it might be better if I don't know. Thank you both! It has been fun finding them.
Darryl... The bank account senario I know all too well..this year alone I am close to 20K on buying notes and gold... Keep up the good work and check out the PCGS Collectors Club...there are 3 different levels....the 15 free submissions I got was worth 450.00 and the membership was only 225... Consider it for the uniqueness of your collection. The older large size are very expensive, my last one was 5.5K...ouch..... Enjoy and again, fantastic additions to your collection Sir! RickieB
I will quote what has been said "what a unique collection"!!! For anyone else to collect the same set, cool, yeah, but it wouldnt mean as much. But for you... the notes have such deep meaning! Some day .. maybe it will get its own pedigree (a term for an anonymous fellow cointalk friend lol)
