Yes, in that the thickness of the letter is diminished as the flat part is not made by the die that struck the coin, so instead of one leg of a letter (say the E) having all parts the same thickness as others of same design, there will be a raised part that is thinner than normal adjacent to a sheared part ( flat appearing) of lesser size which is not part of die design. Compared to a true Doubled die where one part will be normal and there is additional raised/rounded part ( Doubled) due to the die, so the 2 together is thicker than the standard design. Some of these are only detected by the "Fat" letters or numbers as the separation is hard to see. IMO, Jim
