On the two dimes(1805 and 1837) what would you net grade the two coins? Also please grade out the quarters - a couple of R4's if I attributed them correctly 1825 B3 and 1834 B2. Don't be worried about offending me - just really cool coins to me. I love the die crack on the 1837 Dime - not sure of the variety, but I saw 103A on one website. So click on the thumbnails and have at it. Needless to say I visited the coin store today. These are 4 of 7 coins I got out of a type set someone was building. I will try to post the copper half cents and reed edge half later tonight. The set was nice - but a few coins did not fit. I think it was a 1903 highly polished and cleaned IHC. The small cents and some of the nickels were not very nice, same with the morgans. All the seated and bust coinage looked nice to me. I wish I had attributed the 1806 bust half. Oh well. Thanks
In order of appearance - F12 details, net damaged VG8. XF40 details, scratched net VF35. VG8 details, cleaned net G6. F15 - reverse is nice but the obv kills it.
WOW - as far as I am concerned we basically agree on 3 of the coins. The only one we disagree on in my mind is the 1834. I have it marked VF20 - what is it you do not like about the obverse? The white grey highlights on the obverser? I certainly wish it was a more consistent grey across the obverse, but I really like this coin as it is. Same with the other three - I know they are not primo examples, but I really liked all of them. Thanks for the input - I appreciate it.
1805- Fine 12 1837- EF 40-EF 45 however you must mail it to me for further inspection. 1825- VG 8 1825- A high end VF 20 (moderate wear on high points of design) Nice coins Mark.
