I was wondering which ones you keep. I work as a bank teller and I find them everyday. Do you pass up the ones in bad condition?

I don't keep them unless they are over 40 years old and I can sell them. Otherwise until this week I traded them here on the forum. Now I will spend them. I have a 2003A $5 in my wallet right now that will probably get spent tomorrow.

i keep all i can afford. when i cant afford them, i spend the ones that the feds dont shred.. and keep all the ones the feds will shred.

Pass up the ones in poor condition- but not the fairly old star notes in poor condition. I collect all star notes i can find, because it's just something you don't see everyday (Unless you are a bank teller of course!!)

How do you know which will get shredded? I keep them all, even the hundreds. My grandpa will trade me for a regular and hold on to them.

the feds have posted on their website they will shred any note pre-1995. so for now thats the limit, but can easily change on any given day.

This was a keeper I got back in May in a $1K bundle at my bank:

Sold on eBay for veritable pittance compared to it's worth. My last ever eBay sale. After that I decided I will just let stuff gather dust in the safe deposit boxes around town or spend them. This is one that now I wisht I had just kept.
