Confinement "To do List"

We're having a short burst of very warm weather. I bike regularly on a converted rail right-of-way (rails-to-trails), and it was being very well-used last night.

My big to-do is to clear the debris (mostly coin-related) that's piled up at my nominal "home office workstation", and get it ready for a week of full-time work-from-home.

We're supposed to be going to a one-week-in, one-week-home rotation, but I'm hoping the company higher-ups will come to their senses and let us WFH full-time. It makes zero sense for me to drive up to our office, wind my way to my cubicle, unpack my laptop, and type on it there instead of at home. We aren't even supposed to have F2F meetings in conference rooms any more, we're supposed to call from our desks!

 

@Ocatarinetabellatchitchix Might I suggest ma-shops.com They have a
huge selection of dealers that deal with ancients. While most of them are
European dealers I highly recommend many of them and the general sight.
That notebook is a great idea. I might just steal/borrow that idea. Good

Thanks for the suggestion. The only problem I see with this site is the French language. I can't stand those snobby French speaking guys. Je les déteste...

 

Yeah, and what's up with them German speakers. For that matter, if it'not English.....

 

One blessing in my life is that I’m never bored. This cave here is supplied with all I need to feel that life is full of purpose:

 

Yeah, I suppose I could be kept busy in your environs as well except that I feel a need to get out and about. So today, and nearly everyday, I take a 10 mile bike ride around and through my neighborhood. And many days I putz around in my yard or garage during breaks from my coins and books. I know we are on home lock-down, but it still feels about like every other day in my retired life. That is except the empty grocery store shelves. But even with that, my wife and I are plugging along and doing as fine as old people can dealing with our various maladies.

 

I agree fresh air is a must. Come up and hike with me, Bing. There's no corona in the mountains.

 

There was a time in my life I could have hiked up that mountain, but I would have series reservations in my current condition. Look stunningly beautiful there. Norway I presume. One of the few countries I have never visited. My son was to travel to Norway this summer, but that may be still on hold when his military leave is due.

 

I'll tell you what hisses me off. I've been retired for several years now & have pretty much caught up with the "To Do" stuff.

But now, it's like everyone is retired......I no longer have the advantage of being retired!

On the other hand, some of the local stores started "elderly" shopping hours, so there's that...

 

At nearly 71 years young, I don't feel elderly. It's a state of mind (and of course my knees, hips and other joints).

 

My maternal grandfather grew up in the Stavanger area (Nesheim farm). It still is a beautiful country!

I'm afraid Norway too will be changed by global warming. I'm glad to see white caps on the mountains this year too. It's no guarantee for that any more.

 

That's too bad you're 6000km away from my place. We could have "jammed" together...

The mountains are nice. I still have another month to go before the snow is gone. I still snowshoe in the winter but my skiing days are over.

 

I can hardly wait to get back into doing yard work, this year Spring is early. Last year we had snow into May. Sooner I get into action, the $$$ flow will be there for future auction wins. Our "Loonie" great name/ dropped to 69 cents US in past week. Its now costing us Canucks/ Germans living here

Canadian coin collectors are in a big disadvantage to you gals/ guys in UK/ Europe/ USA

 

I bought the bulk lot of my collection between 2004 and 2014. At that time the Norwegian kroner was strong: between 5-6 kroner for a dollar and 7-8 for a euro. Today I have to pay 11,50 kroner for a dollar and over 12 for a euro. Hard times here too. At least you guys are really good at hockey!
