To be fair, he said he was NOT going to pay to get an inexpensive coin slabbed. He never said it was slabbed.

I would like to know more about this mysterious "midnight" authenticator

Same garbage coins, same so-called "experts" who verified them, same insults to people who actually know what they're talking about, same poor grammar = same person

You are jumping onto me for absolutely no reason at all and messing up my thread about this awesome coin. It is just a flat out lie when you call me Avery . Shame on you . If you thought I was someone else that was bothering you It would have been best to ask the moderator who I am. have a good day

So rascal has been a member since 2011 Avery just started a year ago. Some how they do use the same mysterious expert when referencing their finds. Maybe they are related.

    @rascal

    Listen here...

I am a very well-respected person in this forum, and I respect the opinions of other true experts. I have made many contributions with educational posts in this forum, some which have even been featured here by Peter Davis and in a few numismatic periodicals. Major, well-known Mint error experts all across the country know who I am. I have given presentations to multiple groups in my state of NY and been invited to several other states to not only speak but to showcase educational tables on errors and counterfeit/altered coins, including the National PAN show in Pittsburgh this May.

And you know what? If someone says I am wrong, I listen to them. I am not an arrogant person. I like to know who the experts are, how they came to be, and for them to enlighten me on where I made a mistake. My goal is not only to learn but to spread knowledge for people to be able to teach themselves. I have been dead wrong before, and that's OK. I don't mind being corrected. My goal is true knowledge, not having to be right all the time.

Part of that is calling out frauds like yourself who try and push off your "knowledge" on to others who may be new to the hobby and/or are gullible. You and your posts are a detriment and a danger to true knowledge. It is one thing to be learning or to be wrong, but it's another to be aggressively ignorant and question experts with polite yet dismissive, condescending rudeness.

Don't get me wrong. A questioning spirit and an ability to think critically - even when the whole forum is against you - is much needed. No none should lose a spirit of intellectual curiosity, and even the experts are wrong once in a while. But people have provided ample proof to you (and @Avery G. ) that your coins are not errors and you need to stop your nonsense and yet either you can't admit you are wrong or are up to something more sinister (like showing a potential buyer "proof" your coin is legitimate based on comments from other "experienced" collectors; it has happened from comments made in this forum before).

I don't care what anyone else in this forum thinks. I firmly believe 99.9% that you are both the same person. The fact that one joined years ago and the other recently proves NOTHING. On the other hand, I have credible circumstantial evidence that you are. Maybe I'm wrong, but...

Let's look at what both you and @Avery G. have in common:
    1. You both post damaged coins and insist they are errors - aggressively so.
    2. You both cite "experts" who have "certified" your errors, but flat out refuse to give names.
    3. You both arrogantly question true experts, their expertise, and their experience.
    4. You both say how you are really "just trying to teach" others.
    5. You both have proved you have ZERO knowledge in how the minting process works.
    6. The pattern keeps repeating itself.

So @rascal , please, I would love to know your age, profession, experience in errors, books you've read about errors, etc.

    Here's mine:
    - Joe Cronin, 47 years old
    - Former federal agent with the U.S. Treasury and U.S. Customs Service
    - Long-time experienced error collector with a wealth of posts on this site
    - Presented to multiple groups on errors and counterfeit/altered coins
    - Had a couple of my personal error coins featured in Coin World magazine
    - Authored articles in the error magazine Errorscope
    - Known to major mint error dealers, collectors, columnists, and researchers
    - Author of a future book on Mint Errors
    - Am a state representative in NY for CONECA

    Please, enlighten us...

Well Joe I'm sorry to have to tell you that you are flat out wrong about me and accusing me of all kinds of bad things on here . I have never put a altered , fake or damaged coin of any type of coin on here and claimed it to be real.I used to put some of my errors on here somewhere from about 2012 until a few years later and a few members enjoyed seeing them.

Sorry old man but you have told another lie well actually almost everything you said about me is nothing but a lie. And no I'm not trying to down any experts because true experts don't try to down others. Well I have exactly 20 years in age on you . I'm 67 years old and a retired coal miner and long time error collector . I was interested in errors even before you were born young man.Looks like you are begging for respect from others. Well I can tell you that in order to gain respect learn to treat others right and earn it is about all I can say to you. I also know a lot of the error coin examiners.

I have been out of the hobby for a few years and have not been keeping up with other collectors very much. If Mike Diamond is still doing ok you can ask him who I am and he is welcome to tell you if he wants to. I know he used to get on here every now and then. If you are a expert like you claim to be then there is no reason for you to down me and the coin on this thread. You should have no problem seeing this coin is a mint made coin from my photos and the information I gave on it. One thing I did forget to mention is that the coin is in near mint with all of it's mint luster remaining . If something had damaged it and removed this much metal common sense would tell us the mint luster would be missing . You need to stop thinking everything you see is just a old beat up coin.

I'm not trying to get anyone to say my coin is a true error because like I have admitted on here ,It is already authenticated . Im just showing it on here for others to see. I can truthfully say that this coin is exactly like both me and the error examiner that you even tried to down say it is. Yes I do have the authentication paper just Like I said I did. I'm not a liar and I don't like others that lies. I hope this clears this up between us.

Now I'm not on here to get into a ruckus with anyone . I will tell you what is really sad here is someone with so many credentials as you have is to see you ruin it with lying about others and that name calling. You can take it to the bank that everything I have said on here is the truth and hopefully you will find out before long. good evening Joe and my name is Troy W so now you should remember me from years back .

If anyone else on here would like some more info. on this coin you are more than welcome to ask me questions and I will do my best to answer them. This is one reason I put the images of the coin on here. I love to see folks interested in learning about coin collecting.

Danomite What do you say uh-huh

Can you post pictures of the rim in the in the 11 o’clock tilted to the obverse and the reverse. Same for the 5 o’clock position. I’m in the PMD camp, but I’d like to see that.

Thanks very much for your question ,, I'm not going to try to post anymore images right now because I'm not feeling ok. this getting old sucks plus I have had so many surgeries Including open heart surgery I can barely remember them. I have hundreds of friends on here and some of them sent me messages on the message board wishing me well while I have been MIA and I just now seen them. I realize why you want to see the rim at the 11 o'clock position. this is where the metal looks scooped out right next to the rim. This is one reason I knew the coin was a true mint error. If this had been done outside the die collar the rim would have without a doubt been destroyed in this area. The rim is in perfect condition all the way around it. If the metal had been damaged outside the mint the mint luster would have been missing in this area. I know now I just wasted the experts time examining it because I should have known what it was. I have collected and studied coins for nearly 45 years and this one had me confused . I was a big man and asked my good friend for help and I learned from it . You might want to switch to the mint error camp. I can assure you this one is what I say it is.

Never heard of you, and/or don't or remember when or where we interacted.

Listen "Troy," people, including myself, are asking rational, legitimate questions.

People on here always say that "Fred Weinberg" or "Ken Potter" or "Jon Sullivan" or "Matt Diamond" examined their coins if they were willing to examine them. You, for some bizarre reason, want to keep that a secret. Why? I actually want and LOVE when people use me as a reference. I want my name out there. This reasonably leads people to therefore NOT believe you.

Also, you said it is "certified." By what grading company? What does the label say? It is reasonable for people NOT to believe you because you flat out ignore such a simple request to show a photo or provide this information.

And exactly what did I lie about? If I say you are really Avery G. (whom you are) and it turns out I am wrong, that doesn't make me a liar...I would only be lying if I knew you werent him but said you were. I would just be wrong, not a liar.

Also, notice not a single person is defending you, and not a single person is saying I am wrong with anything critical I said.

    Let that sink in.

One of the world's greatest mysteries is why people keep coming here in droves claiming to have the "next big discovery."

When informed by countless experts, the individual refuses to believe them, and then goes on the aggressive defensive.

For what reason? I simply don't get it. @rascal, can you please explain what your end game here is? You've been told multiple times by multiple experts that you don't have what you think you have. Isn't that enough? No amount of aggressive arguments will make what you think is true magically become true. It doesn't matter how many times I tell you that pigs can fly, the simple fact is they can't.

Wow what a bunch of crap . You have lied so much about me it is about impossible to believe . You are the first one I have talked to that can lie then turn around and say well you were just wrong. Even wrong is wrong where I live. This is my last reply to you and I should have never replied to you and would not have if I had known what I was in for. the rukus ends here on my part.
