With what is going on right now, bidders who win can expect some
unusually longer times to be invoiced and then to receive their winnings.
Until the health situation is brought under control long waiting periods
could/will be the new norm. As @panzerman stated, there are some
beauties here, good luck to all.

@panzerman I'm stressing. I had a bid on lot 4210, but sent it yesterday afternoon electronically. I got email confirmation, but am unsure if my bid went through because it was under 24 hours. Hammer price is below my bid, but I've got no confirmation that I won it. How long does the notification and payment process usually take?

Congratulations you got your lot! I bid on the FDC Theodosius II AV Solidus...lost.
    starting bid was 400/ estimate 500/ I bid 1050 hammer was 1200:inpain:
Kunker is really on the ball, when they send confirmation of your bid/ you are OK.

I hope you're right! It was an automatic email that also warned that bids less than 24 hours out might not make it. Anyway, I agree, some of those items went for prices way higher than expected. Another one that I had a 1000€ bid on (expected value) went for 3000€!

I watched the auction yesterday - some amazing stuff, indeed.

Brandon, was rooting for you when your lot came up. VERY GLAD you got it!

I'll post an official thread when it arrives and add the info/research I've been compiling. But since you asked :)

If you're unfamiliar with Gustavus Adolphus and the 30 years war, you might not understand why this piece spoke to me beyond its beautiful design.

Beautifull Thaler! Really glad you got it. Yes, he was killed in the 1632 Battle of Lutzen. I think he got shot in the forearm, then his horse got shot in the neck. He then got shot in the back, then stabbed. He fell off his horse, and was shot in the head by a Imperial horsemen. His death, resulted in the Protestant forces loosing directive and the War in 1648.

As do you and sorry you didn't win it! I did see that beauty, but decided to chase the coin. Apparently there's even a 2 and 4 Taler version! Maybe someday when I have more money:)

I would say the HRE Ferdinand II held a big party to celebrate his death, probably even a bigger one if Cardinal Richelieu had met same fate.
