hello, all I just bought this of eBay. I think this is a DDO fs 101 and this has not one scratch on it that I see! BUT it does have one spot on it in his hair. I would like your opinions would this be MS or PR and if DDO what would this grade @? \
IMO it doesn't look like WDDO-001. https://doubleddie.com/919455.html There's more DDO's You can check it against those listed by Wexler or at:http://www.varietyvista.com/12 Kennedy Halves/DDOs 1964.htm It looks like a Proof coin but maybe someone more experienced can give you the grade. (I don't know how to grade proof coins).
I can't tell if it is the FS-101, either, and grading a proof from these photos is hard, as well. ~ Chris
this coin is really hard to photograph! the G in GOD shows the best doubling I think but you can see it in the I N as well as notching look at the W you cab see line though the first part of the \ . the E as well I can see line's in the - bars of the E the T is a hard one to see the R is on the leg at the end as a notch the U is on to I see notching the S & T are hard to see in pic but the loop shows the doubling
look @ http://www.varietyvista.com/12 Kennedy Halves/DDO Detail Pages/1964PDDO021.htm this looks colse to mine when I look @ in loop
like I said this coin like's the loop, not the camera looking at ddo-020 it is close and could be. thanks for looking
Well so far you are way off with 01 and 12. Neither look like the notching in IN GOD. Not too mention both are flared G's and yours isn't. So do you want help or do you want to say you are right?
hmm, you have me scratching my head. did I not say it is close "AND COULD BE and thanked you for looking" or did you not read that part of my post and your quote of mine post? as far as me wanting your help YES. as far as I think I'm am right why do you think I ask in the first place. I could not find the right DD0 number! what part of my post made you think that I WAS RIGHT? I clicked on and copied the wrong link MY BAD I had several opened
Take it easy, P&G! *Raizac* has it all over Avery, so maybe you should give him a break. Personally, when it comes to '64 PF Kennedy DDO's, I hate trying to identify them without having the coin in hand. ~ Chris
the only thing I was T'ed off on was that he ASSUMED that I thought I was one of those ppl that think they are RIGHT and no one else is I didn't say it was 12 in my post!!! 12 it's part of the link the page number the link is ddo0021 http://www.varietyvista.com/12%20Kennedy%20Halves/DDO%20Detail%20Pages/1964PDDO021.htm
I had just woke up. That was my bad. I had a dream about what just happened today with my job. Sorry. And @cpm9ball you were right to correct me. 64's are a pain to identify. I have never thought your were one of those not willing to listen. Again I am sorry. That is a real nice looking Kennedy. I used the IN G to narrow the variety's that had the same class of Doubling. Also the straight G. I am not sure how many strikes a die pairing lasted but I would imagine that yours could be a different die state than a couple of them. As for 21 look at the IN specifically because the right side of the N is not only weak but it is not parallel to the I and left upright of the N. Again I am sorry I believe @atrox001 is real good at identifying these.
Thank you @Pickin and Grinin it's all good. ...with all that is going on with this cov19 stay safe and hopefully you still have your job
I would use the CONECA Master listings to start to attribute your half dollar. You know your half dollar is an ODV-002/RDV-001...if you look in the master listings you can narrow it down to DDO-009, -020, -032, -034, and -036, all have the ODV-002/RDV-001. If you compare the doubling on TRUST, especially the R and U, with your photos and James Wiles eBook, you can rule out all but the 64PR DDO-020. I think you may have the DDO-020. Check out the photos of the doubling on the hair at the top of the head, and the doubling on the eye from the DDO-020 in my collection. This might confirm yours as the -020. http://varietyvista.com/Variety Master Listings/kennedy doubled dies 1964.htm
thanks so much, @atrox001 just looked @ the hairline and eye and yes it's there. I was thinking of sending this in when pgcs starts back up I think they closed cuz of cov19. I am hoping on a high-grade cuz when I look at this coin there is nothing no dings/dents/scratches Edit--- wait on the page you sent says normal hair!! i think my coin has the accented hair
I was the last one on and the first one let go. In the past two weeks the Company I was selling for has lost over 50% of their daily revenue. It was bound to happen. I am first in line to get the referral when the customer needs an installer. If we don't have to close the doors all together. It's nuts out there folks. As far as PCGS they are back open. Look them up to make sure.
Be aware that even the tiniest little nick can affect the grade. These can often be seen by tilting the coin back and forth under a bright light. ~ Chris
