How might the Julio-Claudian dynasty fared had Germanicus survived to take the reins of the empire?

Would he have bankrupted the treasury?

Was his untimely demise merely a product of a cruel but necessary fate? -- As the civil war and following restoration brought the stability and reconstruction of the first two Flavians, and then the Nerva-Antonine(5 good ones) delivering the empire to its peak.

I've got an 8.3% chance at a correct guess here. Sticking with the Germanicus theme here, I'll go with Vitellius, he knew 'what might have been' too.

Sorry for the delay on this. Just had a 5.7 earthquake this morning with tons of after shocks and barely was followed up by a 4.6 minutes ago!

And BTW, the greatest Caesar, by my standard bearer anyway, is the original. Only Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, Muhammad and Jesus have had a greater impact on humanity, IMO. And 2 of them are debatable.
